Weiser (1991, 94) says that: the idea of a “personal” computer itself is misplaced, and that the vision of laptop machines, dynabooks and “knowledge navigators” is only a transitional step toward achieving the real potential of information technology. Such machines cannot truly make computing an integral, invisible part of the way people live their lives. . Such a disappearance is a fundamental consequence not of technology, but of human psychology. Whenever people learn something sufficiently well, they cease to be aware of it.
There is a “human scale” to this description of cognition. Cognition and action are intrinsically linked and grounded in human experience. We consider the principle components of this view of cognition in terms of cognitive models, basic-level categories, and image schemata. Cognitive or mental models refer to the thoughts and ideas that we have. Basic categories refer to the ways in which we organize and structure these, and image schemata refer to the spatial relationships between them that we experience.
The important fact is that image does not have to be taken as meaning mental pictures but refers to a more general cognitive process of imaginary. But even imagination is not employed to connote artistic creativity, fantasy, invention, or novelty, as they are only one aspect of imagination, which has other facets that are equally significant. Another crucial aspect of imagination is its capacity to organize mental representations (especially percepts, images, and image schemata) into meaningful, coherent units.
